Happiness

I'm having a happy moment which i feel should be documented. Not that im unhappy all the time its just im feeling happy and im by a computer so i thought id share it.
Im still full of relief that i have a job, so much so that ive given up my day off tomorrow to go in to cover someone's shift. But it's all good, i like it there.
At the moment i feel like i have come on a lot building myself a little life in london. Im not thinking much furthur than a week ahead at a time because i cant at the mo, i have to live pretty in the moment. Im now adapting to a new routine of a 9-6 job which is not something im used to but it is fine :-) I dont have the stomach churning worry and stress about money. It had gotten to the point where i knew that if i didnt get a job within a week i would have to go back to cornwall, and i felt like that would be like admitting defeat. Thank god my perseverance paid off.
Man im tired so im going to have something to eat and go to bed.
Night all

Update

Helloooo my faithful followers, sorry for the long silence, i've had no intenet for a while but im back now! Mwhaha.
I have some sad news. My faithful laptop sadly went to the big hard drive in the sky a couple of weeks ago. It will be missed. I had a feeling it was on it's last legs, running insanely slow and freezing/crashing every five minutes, so it wasnt a total shock.
It served me well through the time i needed it most, university, so i can't ask more than that.
My lovely housemate Laura has very kindly said i can use hers when its free which is really nice of her.

Sooooo...i have news.

I have a job!!!

And one i enjoy which for me is possibly the most important thing. The fact that the pay is good is also a bonus :-)
So what is this marvellous job i hear you cry?
I am a retail assistant at The Natural History Museum!
Which basically means i work in the main museum shop.
It's good fun. I got the job through an agency so im a temp, and there are a few of us, i get on well with most of them. The shop has several different sections (dino, ecology, darwin, minerals etc), all of which have interesting stuff in, and every day is different. I might spend a whole day on a till or i might be sent to a section to keep an eye on it and keep it nice and neat and tidy. Also, when your on the shop floor you often get people asking you questions, so i get to help people out which is fun. Most people have been really nice and friendly and willing to have a chat about things which is good. I've been recommending the Darwin exhibition and the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, as part of our training we got to see both and they are ace.
As it's half term this week i am working six days, mostly 9 - 6.15 but a couple of 12 - 4 shifts too. It's tiring but we get two 20min breaks and a 45min lunch break and they spilt the day up nicely so you dont feel like you've been working for ages without a break.

So the biggest worry i've had since moving here is now gone :-) i cant tell you how good it feels. I can go food shopping and not panic about spending money as now i know ill be gettting paid on friday :-)

So this is one happy knitter, about to go and start a top, saying farewell for now :-)

I'd rather be knitting.

Well my friends its been a slow afternoon. Checking my bank balance earlier spurred me on to continue job searching as it would be nice to find something a little more full time and definate than what i currently have. But sitting in front of a computer for most of the afternoon chafes rather. However, i have managed to get promises of callbacks from 2 places which no doubt ill have to chase up. Ah well.
The trouble is, as you may have guessed...I'd rather be knitting! The knitting group is tonight by waterloo station, it's my second time going and this time laura (my new housemate) is coming with me! :-) should be great fun. Have to go see a man about a job first though so i may be a little late but if i get the job it'll be worth it!
Really looking forward to saturday too, exploring camden market with one of my best friends thn going out at night with laura and him and his friends. Can't go far wrong! :-D

Snow Day!

I woke up this morning to a white city :-) there was a snow drift on my window sill lol and everything was white.

I first waked along portobello road as how could i possibly stay indoors?

I found that snow is also a good converstaion starter and i was sliping and sliding down the street i chatted to a few people.

I also joined in a snow ball fight :-) there were three guys throwing snow balls at each other from accross the road, so i got a big snowball together and offered it to the guy nearest me. He instructed me to throw it at a guy on the other side of the road, i grinned at him, carried on walking, then when i had passed him i turned around and through it at the first guy! Course i then was pelted with snowballs from all three guys but oh well :-) was fun :-)

Also on my ramble i discovered a deplorable lack of snowmen, so i built three small ones in various places to make up for this.

The highlight of the day though was definately going to kensignton park gardens. I think half the local population had had the same thought too. Everywhere looked there were people building snowmen, some small and some bigger than me! There was also the coolest thing EVER...a snow sofa! It was amazing, i kinda stumbled accross it and stood in awe before trying it out. And i mst say, it was very comfy. The creators had kindly left cusions on it for people, and as you can imagine, the world and his wife were having their photo taken on it.

I found the nice pond in the garden and to my surprise, all the swans were standing round on the bank, i wondered if maybe the water was too cold. Beautiful creatures. I sat on a bench and read my book for a while, and watched them.

On my way back i saw people building an igloo! They've probably finished it by now.

Gotta say, walking in the snow in shoes with less than brilliant grip is not easy, felt more like a work out for my legs than a walk. Hot chocolate now i think, then more snow tomorrow! :-D
